Contrary to expectations, the EDD event is not a microcosm of specialists closed to the outside world.
NGOS, organizations and experts are indeed brought together for the purpose of reflecting on development and its problems and solutions; however citizens are here also and are actively engaged in the debate. Among them, artists are here to share their vision of tomorrow’s development.

Youssou N'Dour, famous musician, came to the 2009 EDD to express his opinion at the round table: How can culture contribute to development?
The man from Senegal is a committed artist: manager of the microcredit company Birima, roaming UNICEF ambassador since 1991, he is also a patron of the Fondation Jacques Chirac with Jean-Michel Séverino, Dr Pachauri and Muhammad Yunus.
Listen below to know Youssou N'Dour’s opinion on the role of culture on development.
