DPF's International Policy Summit on Africa - Monday 27 September 2010 at the Bibliothèque Solvay in Brussels

“Partnership Africa: New horizons for EU- and inter-African cooperation”
This yearly Summit is hosted this time with the institutional partners of the Development Policy Forum (AFD, DFID, GTZ, the United Nations, the World Bank, the IMF and the EC) under the patronage of the Belgian EU Presidency. It will focus international policymakers’ thinking on Africa, its economic partnerships and the necessity of improved governance. The energy and environment challenges of the continent, as well as the need of investment in both healthcare and human capital will also be addressed.
The summit will be opened by EU Commissioner for Development Andris Piebalgs and will welcome a few hundred participants, EU and national policymakers from member states and Africa, business and trade association representatives as well as NGOs and the civil society.

The DPF is a partnership between Friends of Europe, the United Nations, the World Bank, the French AFD, the UK’s DFID and the German GTZ, and with the support of the IMF, and in association with the European Commission Directorate General for Development and Relations with ACP States. The goal of the partnership is to systematically address forthcoming challenges in the area of development policy through lively debates and sharply written analyses.
