Josette SHEERAN
Josette Sheeran was appointed WFP Executive Director in April 2007. Previously, she served as Under Secretary for Economic, Energy and Agricultural Affairs at the US Department of State. Besides issues including development, trade, agriculture, finance, energy, telecommunications and transportation, Sheeran focused on economic diplomacy to help developing nations advance towards economic self-sufficiency and prosperity.
Kemal DERVIS
Kemal Derviş started as the new head of the United Nations Development Programme, the UN’s global development network, on 15 August 2005. He is also the Chair of the United Nations Development Group, a committee consisting of the heads of all UN funds, programmes and departments working on development issues.
Abdou DIOUF
Abdou Diouf was elected as Secretary General of La Francophonie at the Beirut summit in October 2002 and then re-elected in 2006. He is the former President of the Republic of Senegal (1981 – 2000) and graduated from the Ecole nationale de la France d’Outre-mer (National School of Overseas France) in 1960. Abdou DIOUF led a career as a high-ranking civil servant, first as Minister for the Plan and for Industry (1968-1970), then as Prime Minister (1970-1980) and finally as President of the Republic of Senegal.
Donald KABERUKA
Mr. Donald Kaberuka is the 7th elected President of the African Development Bank Group. As President of the Bank Group, Mr. Kaberuka chairs the Boards of the African Development Bank and the African Development Fund, the soft loan arm of the Group.
Pascal LAMY
Mr Lamy has formerly held the positions of European Commissioner for Trade, CEO of Credit Lyonnais Bank, and Chief of staff for the President of the European Commission. He took office as Director-General of the World Trade Organization in September 2005.
Supachai PANITCHPAKDI
Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi began his four-year term as Secretary-General of UNCTAD on 1 September 2005, following his appointment by the UN General Assembly. He previously served as Director-General of the World Trade Organization and as Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce. Dr. Supachai received his Ph.D. in Economic Planning and Development from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Jean-Michel SEVERINO
Since 2001, Jean-Michel Severino is the CEO of the AFD. After graduating from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration, he started his career as Inspector of finances in the French administration. He was previously director in charge of international development at the French Ministry of cooperation. At the World Bank, he served as director for Central Europe and then as Vice President for Asia.
